What safety equipment do I need for my canoe?
Mandatory equipment as per the Department of Transport - remember the acronym WETPB (wet peanut butter)
W - Whistle, attached to PFD.
E - extra paddle, as well as one for each paddler. Tie it to thwart with a quick relase knot.
T - throw bag (a rescue rope at least 45 feet long). Attach to rear grab loop with a carabiner.
P - PFD (Personal flotation device) for each paddler.
B - bailer (cut off the bottom of a bleach bottle and tie to thwart with cord). A sponge is also useful.
What brand of beer do the club's executive members like?
They are not fussy about their beer. Just bring lots for them on hot, sunny days. LOL.
